Peter Pavlov

Viola

Peter Pavlov was born in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, in 1992. He began his music studies at the age of six, and his career as a violist commenced at 15. After finishing studies at the Saint-Petersburg Conservatory’s special music college, Mr. Pavlov moved to Europe to continue his studies at the Perosi Academy in Biella with Prof. Anna Serova, then at the University of Arts in Berlin with Prof. Wilfried Strehle, and at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Prof. Alexander Zemtsov.


Additional studies have included participation in various master classes and festivals: With Prof. Anna Serova - Accademia di Palazzo Cattaneo di Cremona (2007), Accademia Europea di Palazzo Ricci di Montepulciano (2008, 2010), Festival Magnifica Comunita' della Valpolicella (2009, 2010), International Music Academy of Cagliari (2011), International Music Rotary Camp "Cremona for Strings" (2012), "Percorsi musicali" in Veruno (2012), Cremona International Music Academies (2012, 2013) .

 

With Prof. Bruno Giuranna - International master class for strings "Gioconda de Vito" in Martina Franca (2010), Accademia Chigiana (2015). With Prof. Yuri Bashmet - Special viola and chamber music course at the International Superior Academy of Music Lorenzo Perosi in Biella (2011), Viola master class in Chigiana Academy (2014, 2015).


Mr. Pavlov is the 1st prize winner at the International music competition "Premio Ludovico Rocca" in Neive, Italy (2011) and 2nd prize at the International music competition "Cremona Music Academy" (2013). In 2016, he received the Robert Schumann prize in Dusseldorf.


Since 2017, Mr. Pavlov has been the principal violist of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, a role that has given him opportunities to collaborate and play with numerous internationally renowned conductors, instrumentalists, and singers. He plays a 1967 Marino Capicchioni viola.
